Shawn Fralin is a private chef of twenty-three years, with experience across more than twenty countries and four continents. He is the founder of Rakkasan Chef — a private dining practice serving residences, yachts, brand engagements, and a small recurring chapter dinner series called The Rakkasan Chef Experience.
Before the chef's whites, Fralin served with the 187th Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne — the Rakkasan — from which his practice takes its name. He brings the discipline of military preparation to the table: every menu composed once, every evening rehearsed, every detail accounted for.
Fralin is currently serving as a Task Force Chef at the Mayflower Inn & Spa in Washington, Connecticut — part of the Auberge Resorts Collection — supporting the activation of the property's new culinary program led by Chef Daniel Boulud. He previously held the position of Executive Chef & F&B Director at The Ritz-Carlton Residences Miami Beach. His work has been featured on Food Network, MTV, TLC, and Fine Living TV.
